Bastion’s Gate

The 'Road to Hell’ is paved with good intentions.

The third installment to the Western Wave series sees Death and Destruction visit themselves on this fledgling group of explorers. A starship destroyed by unknown forces. An unforeseen event that raises many concerns. Was it intentional? Was it an accident? How does one get to the truth when some of the facts are hidden behind words like; ‘Classified’?

And now, to make matters worse, a specter has arisen. Born out of the ashes of a previous self, this menace has become, and is designed as a destroyer of worlds. Cold and calculating, it sees itself not merely as a demigod, but as god itself. The humans are not the only race of beings battling against time to put this evil genie back in the bottle before unspeakable tragedy unfolds. A genie that each are responsible, in their own way, of causing it to be released. But genies grant untold wishes and with the knowledge of its existence, factions are vying for control.

The Sol system is in the crosshairs as forces gather to exact the spoils that Earth and its neighboring planets have to offer. An important find, close to home has the entire world wanting a piece of the action but it is soon realized that a discovery of this magnitude will not remain a secret for long. And humanity is about to learn just how inferior their own protection is when pitted against advanced rivals who intend on making certain, they are the beneficiaries.

Three kids are absorbed in viewing this bit of history, from the prospective of ‘the archive’. A collection of historical information, compiled into a timeline, and opened for them to browse. But their time together is short and today is their last chance to make it to the end. Their own mission continues.
