Step Six

  The fourth installment to the Western Wave series finds John West and his entourage stranded on a planet veiled behind a cloak of blackness. John’s absence forces a restructuring of the company that he built and how is that going to affect the fledgling Western Wave.

  The differing species that the humans have come to know are desperately trying to come up with ideas for how to secure allotments of the precious PresidiOil discovered on Mars and the humans are happy to accommodate, for a price.

  A secret is coming to light as two siblings make plans to alter the very structure of the Families of Lobaline. The treachery provided the Kwarta species with the location of an unsecured  weapon system that would have been used against the humans had the Lobaline not intervened. But the question burns in the minds of the Lobaline council, ‘How did the Kwarta learn of the dodge in the first place?’ A plan is put into motion in an attempt to ferret out the truth.

  Back on Earth, the more things have changed, the more they stay the same. The rich and powerful among us are never satisfied unless they are bending the masses to their will. And if that agenda is off the table, there is always criminal behavior to be satisfied. But is it truly criminal if the effort is being done on a planet in a different system?

  And what of John West and his party. Are they to be written off as the price you pay to explore or can a rescue be envisioned. The more advanced species are not hopeful as the humans explore the possibility.
